February was Black History Month. We celebrated people of all cultures together. It was nice learning what African Americans did to us, how they helped out in our world, especially in the United States. It is more noteworthy with Barack Obama as our president now.
Went to The Block at Orange to eat dinner today. Went to buy something at Santa Ana and just stopped by there on the way back. Ate at Market Broiler, which was delicious. I ordered some shrimp schambi which was nice. Sat outside as the weather was a nice night. Also shopped at some of the stores there. It's pretty cool.
Yesterday, I finished reading the book written by Joe Torre, "The Yankee Years." Released on Feb. 3, Torre talked about his 12 years with the Yankees and told us what went on inside the clubhouse. Took me about 3 weeks to completely read it after receiving the book. Joe Torre had high praise for his boss George Steinbrenner as they worked along together in his first 8 or so years. But in the last few years, Steinbrenner's declining health and other people running the team lost the trust with Torre. The Yankees were dominant and great from 1996-2000, winning four out of 5 championships. But the Yankees started signing high profile players, spending a lot of money which changed the chemistry of clubhouse. The Yankees won using homegrown players such as Derek Jeter, Andy Pettite, Bernie Williams and others. Teams learned how to beat the Yankees off and on the field eventually. Read the 500 page book to learn and find out more. It is a great book.

Didn't blog yesterday as I was too busy studying for my biology test on sex-linked and reading a pedigree. I felt I did well on the test 1st period as it wasn't too bad...
Lakers blew out the Phoenix Suns last night 132-106 but shot only 30 % tonight and lost to Denver 90-79.It's okay..48-11 still best record in NBA. The win Thursday night was so easy, look at this picture, all five starters icing their knees...

Last year, this radio station (710 ESPN Dave Dameshek Show) made songs on the Lakers players and their opponents. They made a Lakers Rhapsody (video at end of blog) which was hilarious and other songs too as part of their Laker Tribute. (The Kobe Bryant song that I made into a video slideshow is on the bottom too along with the Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol, and Jordan Farmar songs. Listen to them) Those songs came from songs that were from a while back, 70s - 90s. I've been trying to find the songs that they used and found two of them today. One I heard on the radio (When You Were Young) and the other I heard in an assembly at school today (Man in the Mirror), at the multicultural assembly. The meaning of the assembly was to unite all of us together no matter what race or color you are in honor of Black History Month. They showed this "blue" person who didn't fit in but fitted in afterward. It was pretty meaningful to me. Pretty funny too
Things to do this weekend:
-Study for Algebra II Trig Test (Tuesday)
-Study for Spanish Vocab Quiz (Thursday)
-Finish homework
-Clean my room and organize some papers
-Relax and enjoy (Could've gone snowboarding but didn't as I went on New Years Day already)
Good night

AMC Test 10
My cold is almost gone. I felt so much better today than yesterday. Wasn't as fatigued as yesterday. The extra 30 minutes of sleep today helped.I went home after school today as my golf coach advised me to go home so I wouldn't pass on the disease to anyone else.
I took the AMC 10 (American Mathematics Competition) test today. It was part 2 as I took part 1 on Feb 10. "Don't call me a NERD for taking this test"... Those questions were challenging but I still managed to answer about 11 of them in which I'm sure its correct. We can leave it blank so I left a few blank. Those problems tend to be tricky. It was a great experience to see what the test is like. The AMC test caused me to miss 1st and 2nd period but I was able to catch up on my biology and english. Reading and interpreting a pedigree (not the dog food)isn't that bad. Just follow the symbols and patterns. My english teacher got a Sharp Aquos 42 inch 1080P Full HDTV installed in her classroom. Are we really that rich and can afford to put one there? My homework was done pretty quickly as I had a lot of spare time. I have to study for a spanish test tomorrow but its mostly review on SER and ESTAR. SER describes origin, profession, and physical characteristics/traits. ESTAR describes location, and temporary conditions (how someone feels). YES!!! My Spanish teacher is funny. Today, he said he would be a sub teacher if the pay was a bit higher as subs just follow the teachers plans such as watching a movie and then the sub can read his own books or newspapers.
I made some upgrades to this blog today as I added some pictures of my favorite team, the Los Angeles Lakers and my dog, Rusty, is on the picture on the bottom. There's also a ESPN ticker on the top for breaking sports news. Dodgers better resign Manny Ramirez as they made a third offer to him tonight. This blog site is pretty easy to navigate. It will improve as time goes on.

Roller Coaster Day
Have you ever gotten sick before and how did u feel? Well I had a fever yesterday and doctor told me to just keep drinking water. Anyways. today was such a roller coaster day for me. It was full of me feeling up and down the whole day. I felt like I was asleep at some point and felt that I had recovered from my cold. Up and down it went. I don't know how, but I still managed to get through school without falling asleep. I had to catch up on what I missed yesterday but that didn't take a long time. Of course, I skipped golf practice after school because I was still sick and took the bus home. Wanted to go home earlier but didn't. Could've taken a nap in the afternoon. I felt so tired this afternoon and wanted to sleep but an Advil pill kept me awake. Haha. I am awake still right now and finished my homework.
Our president Barack Obama had his first speech as the commander-in-chief tonight to Congress. I watched that speech and boy he is good. He spoke for 52 minutes without using any paper. How amazing!!! Obama memorized his speech completely and said it to a prime time audience without any hesitation. The president mentioned things about economy and the things that stand out were when he mentioned the energy, insurance, and education. A strong emphasis was made on education which is important to me right now.
My mood was happy right after the Obama speech as the Lakers are now 47-10 after defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder (what a name)in OKC 107-93. LA still has best record in NBA...The Phoenix Suns come to STAPLES Center on Thursday night. National TV game...
Again, wish me well as I am about 70-80 % right now. I still don't feel 100% yet. My energy hasn't returned to me yet. Still coughing and my sinus is all clogged out. I am tired. Gonna go to sleep and get to sleep til about 7:10 AM as tomorrow is late start Wednesday. Yay!!!
