The Recession has been going on for almost two years now. It started back in December 2007 and the world has changed. Business' has been slowing down and more people have become unemployed. The auto industry ran out of money as they declared bankruptcy and its ghost town in Detroit. It has been scary. California's unemployment rate is at around 10% now. All the schools have been hit with budget cuts, the cuts influencing the colleges the most. Colleges have had to lower down there student admission rates.
Personally, it has not really affected me yet but my family has not been out to eat for a long time. We have eaten at home most of the time. But recently, we went to Artesia City Plaza to dine. We had gone there a lot earlier this year especially that Pho Saigon restaurant. But when we went there, that plaza was so quiet. The Pho place had closed its doors and so had Four Seasons Cafe next door. That really shocked me. We had just ate there 6 months earlier. Both had closed because of the recession. And to add to it, there were many vacant and empty spaces in that plaza. This is what the recession has done to that plaza that opened around 2007. Earlier this year, one of a Korean restaurant we would go too also closed its doors due to the recession.
I hope this recession can end soon. It is too scary seeing this happen.
