Today, I helped set up a Digital TV (DTV) converter for my grandma's 2 non cable TV that has been recieving signal over the air with the analog sticks. It was interesting settting it up and seeing the difference.
Setting up the converter box was really easy. All that needed to be done was to connect the analog signal to the converter box and then connect converter box to the TV. I followed the instruction in the instruction manual and it worked well. Then, I programed the converter box. A remote was included which isn't bad.
The TV channles were so clear. There were so many channels. I was surprised that about 60 channels from over the air popped up as I was scanning. There were many subchannels of a channel. For example, channel 4 had 4-1 (regular programing) 4-2 (Weather, news plus channel) and sports (4-3). Channel 18, the international channel, had over 7 channels. It is great as my grandma and grandpa can watch even more channels.
SO DTV is so clear. Things are being taken to a higher level. June 12, 2009, every channel will be like this as Obama extended the date from Feb. to June.
